L&C Support Scheme

The L&C is proactive in supporting its match officials through a number of initiatives, and is committed to providing a positive, inclusive and welcoming environment for all participants.

The League has match officials at all stages of their careers covering our games, and we have been delighted to be able to support a growing number of new referees to promotion in recent seasons.

League officers attend fixtures every Saturday, and we introduce ourselves to referees, especially new ones to the L&C,making ourselves available if any support is required.

We operate a 'Cooling Off' protocol on matchdays to help prevent half-time and post-match issues.

There is also recognition in the form of 'Referee of the Year' and 'Young Referee of the Year' Awards in addition to the traditional appointment of outstanding match officials to our cup finals and semi-finals.
