Trafford Reserves suffered heartbreak as Winstanley St Aidans won the North West Inter League Final on penalties in midweek.
The L&C outfit put up a valiant effort against their LAL counterparts and, despite falling behind twice, they fought back twice through strikes from Henry BROWN and Jack DONOHUE.
They couldn’t quite force a winner despite pressing and in the shootout, they lost out 4-2.
Despite the agonising defeat, they can be proud of their efforts to push a solid Winstanley side as close as they did.

With the season reaching its climax there were limited league games and in the Premier Division, Bedians secured their runners-up spot with a close 2-1 win at Bury Ams.
Trafford United lifted themselves out of the bottom two with a gritty 2-1 win at Bollington United.
Pro United were too hot for AFC Monton to handle with a lively first half seeing them lead 4-0.
It was closer after the break but Pro United eased to a 6-1 win.

The solitary Division One saw AFC Stockport conclude their season with a fine 2-1 win at North West Interleague runners-up Trafford Reserves.
Didsbury FC were comfortable winners in their Division Two encounter with Cavaliers.

Division Three champions Manchester Rovers were able to celebrate in style after being presented with their trophy after a 1-1 draw with Broadheath Celtic.
Saddleworth 3D finished as runners-up after a big win over AFC Stockport Warriors.
Timperley Villa thrashed Trafford United Reserves 5-0 in their local derby and Village Manchester Reserves enjoyed a 5-1 victory over Spurley Hey.
The other game in the division was a thriller with Altrincham Hale Thirds winning by the odd goal in seven at Heywood St James Reserves.

Plenty of goals in Division A led by Didsbury Reserves who triumphed 6-1 over Newton Vikings to keep up their chase of leaders Waterhead who had to graft for a 4-3 victory over Salford United.

Just one game in Division B and Signol Athletic showed why they are impressive champions as they completed their season with a 10-4 derby win over Stockport Titans.
