On a weekend ravaged by storms, Division One leaders Gamesley dropped their first points of the season. The division was limited to two games but with second-placed Village Manchester not in action, Gamesley had an opportunity to stretch their lead at the summit. However, they were held by a spirited Moorside who registered a 3-3 draw.

It means Gamesley are three points clear but if Village win their game in hand handsomely, they will leapfrog the current leaders.

In the other game, it also ended all square as Rochdalians and On The Ball shared four goals.

The Premier Division is the most competitive it has been for many years with just three points separating the top six teams and, remarkably, a full programme of fixtures was completed despite the weather conditions.

It involved a number of tight matches including Oldham Hulmeians’ exciting 5-3 victory over AR Elite which ensures they finish the weekend top of the table.

They are two points ahead of Manchester South End who won the top game of the day scoring the only goal in the match of the day hosting previous leaders AFC Stockport.

South End have a game in hand over Hulmeians, as have Urmston Meadowside Reds who grafted hard for a 2-1 win at Bollington United.

In the same position are AFC Oldham who won their local derby at Chadderton Cott 3-0.

The only unbeaten team in the division are Bedians and a comfortable 3-1 win over Manchester Rose puts them in prime position to hit the top if they win their two games in hand over the leaders.

The other game in the division saw Wythenshawe Wanderers remain in the title hunt with a 5-3 victory over Winton Wanderers.

More action and plenty of goals in Division Two as teams looked to close the gap on non-playing leaders Fitton Hill Rangers and second-placed Stoconians.

Old StretsGregs moved into third spot with their best win of the season by 8-3 in a local derby at Old Alts Thirds.

Since the team started playing in new kit they have responded well with a good run of form.

Abacus Media have also recovered well from a slow start to the season and moved into top half of the table with an emphatic 5-1 win over Withington Wanderers.

The score was matched by Moston Brook Thirds at Konger.

Three games were played in Division Three and Newton Vikings moved into second place behind leaders Signol Athletic with a neat 2-0 win over AFC Salford.

Silver Birch are now three points behind Vikings after losing a close contest 2-1 hosting Trafford United Reserves.

The other game saw Boothstown move up the table with a 6-1 cruise over South Manchester.

Plenty of action in Division A with runaway leaders Stoconians Reserves staying six points clear of the pack with a comfortable 6-1 win at Manchester South End Reds to take their goal difference to a huge 40 after eight games.

The two teams behind them both had big wins, Irlam Steel at AFC Stockport Reserves and Spurley Hey over Salford Storm.

The other two games were much closer with Cheadle and Gatley beating Waterhead 3-2 and Santos u23 shared six goals in their local derby with Saddleworth 3D.

Division B was also busy with leaders Richmond Rovers taken all the way by Bury Ams B before winning 4-3

AFC Oldham Reserves enjoyed a 4-1 win at King Jonny Castilla to pick up their first points of the season.

Gamesley Reserves had a big win at Manchester Victoria and AFC Stockport u21’s won 4-2 at OldStretsGregs Reserves.
