Record influx of new clubs elected at AGM

The League held it's 117th Annual General Meeting at the Tameside Stadium yesterday evening, and the following clubs were elected:


AR Elite- new open-age team (Deans Trust Ardwick)

Barr Hill United - merger of Barr Hill and Salford United (Bolton Road PF, Salford)

Didsbury Phoenix - new open-age team (Bedians AFC)

Eagles Wilmslow - new club (Wilmslow High School)

Eastside United - new club (Ken Ward Centre, Hattersley)

Gamesley from Hope Valley League (two teams) (Melandra Park, Gamesley)

Irlam Steel - new club (not connected with Irlam Steel Rangers) (Irlam Sports and Social Club)

King Jonny from sunday football (Rushford Park and Hough End PF)

Milltown from Lancashire Amateur League rejoining L&C (Co-op Academy Failsworth, Oldham)

On The Ball - new open-age team (Bolton St Catherine's Academy)

Sale Spartans from sunday football (Manor Avenue PF, Sale)

Salford Storm - new open-age team rejoining L&C (Stott Lane PF, Salford)

Winton Wanderers - new open-age team (Brookhouse PF, Eccles)

Wythenshawe Wanderers - new open-age team (William Scholes PF, Gatley, Stockport)


The LMC are really excited not only in the number of new clubs, but by the high calibre of the applicants who will be real assets to the League going forward.


We welcome them all, with a special welcome back to Milltown and Wythenshawe Wanderers.


Both Chadderton Cott and Newton Vikings were re-elected to league membership.


Clubs / teams leaving the League are:


Cavaliers - suspended in May 2026 and did not meet requirements to stand for re-election

Heyside - team disbanded

Richmond Rovers (first team only) to Cheshire Football League

Rushford Park - folded (first team have moved to Wythenshawe Wanderers)

Stretford Paddock Amateurs to Cheshire Football League

Tintwistle Athletic Res to Manchester Football League

Waterhead AFC - team disbanded, reserves become new first team


The following clubs / teams have changed name or club:


Didsbury FC first team have moved to become AFC Urmston Meadowside Red Star

East Manchester Galaxy are now called Cheat Daze (club sponsor)

Fitton Hill All-Stars have left the club to become new club Fitton Hill Rangers

Rushford Park first team have moved to Wythenshawe Wanderers


It is anticipated that the League will operate with six divisions of 12, 13 or 14 teams and the divisional structure will be confirmed in early August.



The season starts for all divisions on Saturday 5th September 2026.
