Bollington Strengthen Position at Summit

Updated: Dec 22, 2025

In the final round of fixtures before the mid-season break, RFAITS sponsored Premier Division leaders Bollington United consolidated their position at the summit with an efficient 2-0 victory over hard-working Manchester South End.

It means that, in their first season at this level, Bollington hold a six-point lead over AFC Oldham who have two games in hand. In effect, Bollington’s superior goal difference means the lead is seven points.

The other game in division saw Bedians hosting new team Boothstown with the hosts looking to catch up with the games played.

Bedians came flying out of the blocks with two early goals but Boothstown showed their mettle as they gave as good as they got and reduced the arrears but had to settle for a 2-1 defeat.

There were two games in Division One and the top game was a real thriller as leaders Oldham Hulmeians hosted Stretford Paddock Ams.

Hulmeians were taken all the way by Paddock before emerging with a breathless 4-3 win which extends their lead at the top to six points over non-playing East Manchester Galaxy who have four games in hand.

The other game featured two teams looking to break into the top group as AFC Stockport hosted Didsbury FC.

It was a game of great entertainment with both teams giving their all with AFC edging a 3-2 win to keep on the heels of the leading group.

There were plenty of goals and three clean sheets in the three games played in Division Two.

Long-time leaders Manchester Rovers were too hot for Konger to handle in a clinical 5-0 win which takes them five points clear of Moston Brook Reserves.

Moorside made it nine successive wins ln league and cup as they triumphed 3-0 at Elton Fold with Jordan Delves (two) and Jo Fagan netting to see Moorside move to within six points of Rovers with four games in hand.

The other game saw Heywood St James also defend immaculately in a 4-0 win over Old Alts Thirds.

Fitton Hill All-Stars kept up their domination of Division Three with a big 8-2 win over AFC Stockport Warriors to move nine points clear of non-playing Timperley Villa.

Stoconians moved level with Timperley with an efficient 2-0 win at Trafford United Reserves.

Plenty of goals at Spurley Hey hosting Altrincham Hale Thirds where the visitors, despite holding a 3-2 lead at the break, ultimately fell 6-3 to rampant Spurley Hey.

Limited action in Division A to one game but there were goals galore at Prestwich Marauders in a mid-table contest against Newton Vikings who sailed to a big 8-3 victory.

The back of the net was also rippling in the two games played in Division B where AFC Oldham A had their shooting boots on in a 6-1 win over Manchester Victoria and Santos U23’s were not far behind cruising to a 5-0 win over Bury Ams B.
