Charlie Daze Up and Running in Competitive Top Flight

Charlie Daze secured their first Premier Division win of the season with a gritty 1-0 win over Manchester South End on a weekend which perfectly displayed how competitive the division will be this season.

Oldham Hulmeians were held to a thrilling 3-3 draw at Wythenshawe Wanderers to remain a point off the summit at this early stage, while AFC Oldham edged another tight contest, seeing off Bollington United 2-1, with both teams showing they are capable of competing at the top end of the league.  

Bedians rued a first-half penalty miss as they could only draw 1-1 with Chadderton Cott, and the only convincing win in the division this weekend came courtesy of AFC Stockport’s 3-0 cruise at AFC Urmston Meadowside.

Three teams have unblemished records at the top of Division One, led by Village Manchester who registered an incredible 15-1 win at Manchester South End Reds. They are joined level on points by Santos who beat Heywood St James Reserves 3-1 and Gamesley who were made to work hard for a 3-1 win at Trafford United, secured through strikes by Daniel Kay, Charlie Holloway and Kayne Blakeley.

The other game at On the Ball saw them share four goals with Grappenhall SC.

Plenty of goals and lively action in Division Two with Fitton Hill Rangers ruling the roost with an efficient 3-0 win over Moston Brook Thirds.

Timperley Villa showed their quality with a 6-2 win at Swinton to move into second place with a game in hand.

The other big hitters were Old StretsGregs who cruised to a 7-2 win over Abacus Media to stay level on points with Villa and Withington Wanderers who accounted for Konger by 5-2.

The other two games in the division ended level with Manchester Rovers and Old Alts Thirds finishing 1-1 and Elton Fold shared six goals with Stoconians.

Eagles Wilmslow are flying high at the top of Division Three as they kept their 100% record with a 2-1 win at Trafford United Reserves.

Hot on their heels are Signol Athletic after a 6-3 win over Boothstown and a game in hand.

Altrincham Hale are also in the mix with a 2-1 win over Silver Birch and Barr Hill United showed their intent with a 6-1 win at King Jonny Spartans.

AFC Salford accounted for Newton Vikings 4-2 and Deans u21’a shared four goals hosting Sale Spartans.

Stoconians Reserves kept up their great form in Division A and made a flying start to derby day against AFC Stockport reserves, taking the lead after just 10 minutes through Henry Apsley.

A dominant first-half performance saw Stoconians add three more goals, with Matt Theaker scoring twice and Harvey O’Brien also getting on the scoresheet to give Stoconians a commanding lead at the break.

The second half followed much the same pattern, with Harry Shaw quickly adding a fifth before Matt Theaker completed his hat-trick to make it 6–0. Harry Shaw then grabbed his second, before Bo Bouabre added his first. Cam Foster followed shortly after, with Bo then completing the scoring with his second of the game to make it 10–0.

A fantastic performance from Stoconians, making it 25 goals in their last three games.

But level on points with Stocs are Irlam Steel with a 7-0 win over Salford Storm showing their class and ambition.

Spurley Hey kept up their 100 perfect record with a gritty 2-1 win over Waterhead and Village Manchester Reserves won by the same score over Santos u23.

It’s tight at the top of Division B with three teams level on six points.

Leading on goal difference are Saddleworth 3D Reserves who demolished Manchester Victoria 10-1.

In second spot are Richmond Rovers Reserves after a comfortable 4-0 win over Gamesley Reserves and Bury Ams Reserves are in third place after a 2-0 win over Didsbury FC.

Plenty of goal action at AFC Oldham Reserves who lost out 6-4 to Moston Brook Fourths and the final game saw Old StretsGregs Reserves pick up their first victory of the season winning 3-1 at King Jonny Castilla Reserves.
