Waterhead AFC have enjoyed a very successful season in the Lancashire and Cheshire AFL which culminated in winning Division A by a point from Didsbury FC reserves in a nerve-jangling finish.
Many of their players have played for other clubs in the L&C but this is their first season as their own club.
Club official Kyle Wynn outlined the club’s ambitions and thanked the league for their support.
Kyle said: “We have played in the league for many seasons but this is our first season as our own club.
“We decided to apply to the L&C with plenty of ambitions and we have had a fair and equal opportunity throughout the season and have always had responses from the league when needed.
“I would like to thank L&C secretary Scott White who has guided me throughout the season and all of the L&C committee who have helped when I have pestered them relentlessly for advice.
“Next season we look to start as we mean to go on and work towards going through to the Premier division in the next five years.
“I have nothing specifically to add but we look forward to entering or Reserve team into the league for the next season and continuing to grow in the L&C.”
